Finally! The world has acknowledged and noticed Underground River as one the  NEW 7 WONDERS OF NATURE. This was proclaimed last January 28, 2012.

Underground River is located about 50 kilometers north of the city center of Puerto Princesa, Palawan.  The city government has managed it since 1992.

ENTRANCE OF THE UNDERGROUND RIVER. The sight itself is already breathtaking.

Now of course, when you have to enter the cave, you need some protection. Always wear
your HELMETS, at all times, since you do not want any minerals/bats poo on your hair/head.

My dad and me
The water is so clear. The weather was hot. Those two combined, makes you wanna jump in the water and take a dip!

As you enter the entrance, you will see this amazing sight. All well preserved by the government of Palawan. Ok, the one you see here, (the mushroom shaped) thats what you call a STALACTITE, those are minerals that drips. Over time, it hardens, and becomes Stalactite. At times, it forms into a shape and in this case, it looks like a mushroom. On the other hand, the one you see on the ground are called STALAGMITE. Unfortunately, I dont have a picture of it.

As you exit the cave...

This is the famous UNDERGROUND RIVER SIGN.

Of course, we just have to pose with it!
